6 Importance Of Sex
Look Younger:- A long-term study of 3,500 people between the ages of 30 and 101 found that regular sex may shave between four and seven years off your physical appearance. Researchers at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital in Scotland presented photos of the subjects to an impartial panel of judges, who were asked to guess their ages.
The people who were judged to be the youngest were also those who had the most sex. What's the connection between youthfulness and getting it on? In addition to boosting self-esteem and confidence, sex increases the production of human growth hormone, which is known to improve muscle tone.
Slim Down:- On average, sex burns about five calories per minute, depending upon your weight. Even engaging your partner in a hot kiss boosts your heart rate, which in turn increases your body's caloric burn. Next time you're too busy to work out, try getting busy instead.
Fight The Sniffles:- Sex may help fight off colds. In a study at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania, researchers found that college students who had sex once or twice per week had higher levels of immunoglobulin A, an antibody that boosts the immune system.
Stress less:- Want to stress less? Sex could be just the thing to keep you calm. In a study by researchers at the University of Paisley in Scotland, 46 men women were asked to give speeches to an audience who, unbeknownst to the speakers, was told to act bored and disinterested. Afterwards, the participants' blood pressure was taken-those who reported having sex within the last two weeks had the lowest readings.
Have A Healthy Heart:- A recent study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that erectile dysfunction (ED) is often an early indicator of poor cardiovascular health. Researchers followed more than 2,300 men for an average of four years and found that men with ED had a 58 percent greater risk of coronary heart disease.
Another study showed that men who reported having three or more orgasms per week experienced 50 percent fewer heart attacks and strokes as compared with those who had less frequent orgasms. Sex may help the heart because orgasm triggers the release of the hormone DHEA, which helps with circulation and arterial dilation.
Live Longer:- For reasons that are still unclear, regular sex may even add years to your life. A study published in the British Medical Journal found that men who had sex less than once per month were twice as likely to die in the next 10 years than those who had sex once per week.
And guys aren't the only ones to benefit: Researchers at Duke University found that women who claimed to enjoy their sex lives lived seven to eight years longer than women who were indifferent to sex.
Pop-Gospel Artist, Kefee Laid To Rest
The body of the late Pop-Gospel artist, Kefee (Irikefe Don-Momoh, nee Obareki) was given a queen's burial on Friday in her hometown, Okpara Inland, Ethiope-East Local Government Area, Sapele, Delta State.
The whole town ground to a standstill as the body of their late daughter arrived Akpevwoghene Educational Centre, Okpara Inland, around noon in a white SUV with 'Omega 1' as the plate number.
She was also in a white casket and was laid in state in the middle of the school's football field while friends and family paid their last respects. The casket was not immediately opened to the public but a funeral service was held in her honour while Sammie Okposo, his band and other Gospel artists took turns on the stage set up at the venue.
The husband, Teddy, clad in white had arrived earlier and received the body along with members of Kefee's family. The first took her into one of the classrooms and said some prayers before taking the body to the centre of the field.
Photographs were asked not to take any pictures for a while as things were being organised. They were allowed to take shorts and move around unhindered once things settled.
A number of entertainers like DJ Gosporella, I Go Dye, Linda Etukudo, Nene SoulDiva, Anny Ibrahim, Princess, Aity Dennis, Daddy Showkey, Tosin Martins and Nikki Laoye were present at the funeral.
After the service, the body was then transported to the burial site nearby where a beautiful mausoleum had been erected and buried amidst tears from friends and well-wishers.
The parents, out of custom, were forbidden to either witness the funeral service or see the dead body of their child.
Afterwards, in the evening, everyone regathered in Sapele for a celebratory event where the Gospel artists and a number of local upcoming artists performed till late into the night.
Kefee was a well-liked Pop-Gospel artist who had been active in the entertainment industry for the past ten years. She was born on Feb. 5, 1980 in Sapele, Delta State and was known as the Branama Queen, in reference to her debut hit track and album, 'Branama'.
She also scored a hit with the track, 'Kokoroko', featuring Timaya and had four albums to her credit 'Branama' (2003), 'Branama 2' (2005),
'A Piece of Me' (2009) and 'Chorus Leader' in 2013.
Kefee passed away on June 13, 2014, in the United States of America. She is survived by her husband, parents (both living), friends and well-wishers.
Jolie To Visit Nauru To Check Refugee Facilities
SYDNEY – Hollywood star and UN refugee envoy Angelina Jolie has accepted an invitation to visit the small island of Nauru where Australia sends asylum-seekers for processing and resettlement, the government said Monday.
Jolie, a UN goodwill ambassador, was invited by the Pacific
island nation’s President Baron Waqa when they met at the Global Summit
to End Sexual Violence Against Women in Conflict in London.
“The government of Nauru can confirm that Angelina Jolie has
accepted an invitation by President Baron Waqa to visit our nation,” a
government spokeswoman told AFP.
“We believe this will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase
the facilities for refugees on Nauru, which we believe are world-best
practice.”
Under Canberra’s punitive offshore detention policy,
asylum-seekers attempting to arrive by boat are transferred to camps in
Nauru or Papua New Guinea for processing and permanent resettlement
outside Australia.
Most of those sent to Nauru are families with more than 1,000
people currently held and another 99 having been resettled in the
community.
Refugee advocates have been deeply critical of the Australian
policy and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees last year
slammed the facilities on Papua New Guinea’s Manus Island and Nauru.
It said they failed to meet international standards of
treatment and amounted to arbitrary detention in breach of international
law, while failing to provide an efficient system for assessing refugee
claims or safe and humane conditions.
It also noted efforts made to improve conditions on steamy and
mosquito-infested Nauru, where people were forced to live in cramped
tents with little privacy after riots razed buildings last year.
Australian Immigration Minister Scott Morrison, who rejected
the criticism, said Monday the Jolie visit was “a matter for the Nauruan
government”.
Asked whether he was concerned the visit would shine a light
on Australia’s treatment of asylum-seekers in Nauru, he told reporters:
“I don’t plan to respond to any of the assertions you have made.”
Nauru said a date for Jolie’s trip had yet to be finalized.
BBC Boss Backs Entertainment Output
BBC boss Tony Hall has defended the BBC from criticism that it makes too many entertainment shows.
His comments came as the corporation, which has enjoyed huge success with Strictly Come Dancing but has been criticised for muscling in on the territory of rival broadcasters with talent show The Voice, is expected to announce job cuts in BBC news.
Lord Hall told the Culture, Media and Sport select committee: "If you look at entertainment we do less than ITV, but what we do brings the nation together.
"We are an enormous investor in British comedy and comedy tells you about our lives and about us.
"If you look at Miranda, The Wrong Mans or Mrs Brown's Boys, these are really important ways of contributing towards UK culture."
The BBC's director-general told MPs: "We are about distinctive, original programmes. When you ask the public, 'does that mantra ... inform, educate, entertain still hold true?', the answer is it does."
Lord Hall confirmed that BBC director of news and current affairs James Harding would be making an announcement later this week.
Staff have been warned previously that a "significant" number of redundancies are likely to be made in the corporation's news department and there has been speculation that 500-600 jobs could be cut.
"BBC news is facing what the rest of the BBC is facing, which is a 26% cut in the amount of money we have available for programmes and services," Lord Hall said.
"So later this week James will be telling the staff about the consequences of that for staff in BBC news.
"I want James to tell his staff what's happening before I announce anything."

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has impeached the state Governor, Murtala Nyako.
After deliberations made by the
seven-man impeachment panel, eighteen out of the 24 members of the

misconduct,” Punch reports.
