Buhari Makes U-Turn On Medical Trip To London


President Muhammadu Buhari has postponed his proposed trip to London on Friday for a medical follow-up.

The President’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity disclosed this on Friday afternoon in a short statement.

The statement read, "The medical follow-up visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to United Kingdom earlier scheduled for today, Friday, June 25, 2021, has been postponed. A new date will be announced in due course."

The Presidency gave no reason for the postponement.

Buhari was scheduled to fly to London today and to return back in the country during the second week of July 2021.

ROTARIAN REMI BELLO, M.Sc. FCA 

 Rotarian Ismaila Aderemi Bello was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria on Sunday, 15th September, 1957. 

Rotarian Bello had his primary education at ICC Pry School, Ibuko,Molete, Ibadan, his secondary education at Ibadan City Academy. He had a brief spell at The Polytechnic, Ibadan where he obtained National Diploma in Accountancy before proceeding to Olabisi Onabanjo University where he had his B.Sc. (Hons) in Accounting with 2nd Class Upper.  He hold an M.Sc in Accounting from the prestigious University of Lagos where he is currently a Ph.d Accounting candidate.

Remi is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, Fellow Chartered Tax Practitioner and member Institute of Directors (IOD).  He is an Alumnus of Lagos Business School(CEP10) and has attended several professional courses both at home and abroad.  

Rotarian Remi Bello is the immediate past Managing Director/CEO of Crittall-Hope Nigeria Limited.

Rotarian Bello is the Immediate Past Chairman, Eko Forum, a Federal Government body saddled with the responsibility of reconciling Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) with its Electricity Consumers.A past President and past Chairman of Council  Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). He is a Past Vice Chairman (Africa Region) and Council Member of World Chamber Federation and a speaker at the Federations Qatar 2013 and Torino Congress in 2015.  Honorary Life Vice President of Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce

Rotarian Bello was appointed as one of the 25-man Presidential Advisory Council of the Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan of the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2014. 

Rotarian Remi Bello is aPast President of Jericho Businessmen Club.

‘Remi has served Rotary Club of Ikeja South in various capacities the peak being the President in 2007-2008 Rotary Year.  He has served the District as District Treasurer, Chairman - District Vocation Service Committee, Chairman - District Conference Committee and Assistant Governor for three consecutive years, District Governor Nominee and District Governor-elect. Remi is a member of Rotarian Action Group for Peace (RAGFP). 

Remi is a Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation (TRF).He is the Nigeria National Polioplus Committees Treasurer since 2013, the committee that has successfully brought poliomyelitis to zero in Nigeria.

He has attended several District Conferences, Rotary International (RI) Conventions, West Africa Project Fairs and Rotary Institute Zone 20A.

A passionate and compassionate Rotarian, he had hosted in his house inward Group Study Exchange (GSE) beneficiaries on Friendship Exchange to District 9110 on many occasions.

Rotarian  Bello, a philanthropist, personally funded the purchase of two plots of land, donated the parcel of land to Temidire Community in Ifo Local Government area of Ogun State through his Club. He used the opportunity of marking his 50th birthday anniversary to raise funds for the construction and donation of a public primary school on the land he donated to the community.  The school today is one of the public primary schools being run by Ogun State Government and it had a student enrollment of about 600 as at 2020.  

Rtn. Remi Bello is happily married and blessed with children and grand-children.

It is not all work, Rtn. Bello is a Table Tennis buff and an ardent golfer.He is also Member, Ikoyi Club 1938 and Lagos Country Club where he is a Patron in the TableTennis Section.

Allocation of 3 Bedroom Apartment To Super Eagles


 President @MuhammaduBuhari has approved the allocation of 3-bedroom houses to the Super Eagles squad that won the African Cup of Nations in Tunis, Tunisia, in 1994, making real a promise by the Federal Government. Following a memo by the Minister of Works and Housing, the President approved the allocations in their States of preference.


LASU, Covenant Ranked Among Top Young Varsities In The World

Both Lagos State University (LASU) and the Covenant University Ota made it to list of the top 475 young universities of the world.


The ranking by Times Higher Education (THE) features universities 50 years and younger using the same 13 performance indicators as the world rankings of university except for less weight on reputation.

According to THE site, the universities were judged based on teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook “to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available.”

In 149th position, LASU ranks ahead of some universities in the UK, France, South Africa and many other countries with well- respected education systems while Covenant University ranks in the 201-250 band.

THE website noted that the United Kingdom had 37 institutions on the ranking, which has Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in number one spot.

India follows as the country with the second highest number of institutions on the ranking with 34 schools, while Spain is third with 33.

LASU ranked higher than Glasgow Caledonian University (188th) Scotland; De Monfort University UK, Birmingham City University, UK (195); Oxford Brookes University (169th); University of Johannesburg (173); University of Northern British Columbia, Canada, among others.

Police Parade 21-year-old UNILAG Girl For Murder Of Super TV CEO

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 21-year-old Chidinma for allegedly killing the Chief Executive Officer, Super TV, Usifo Ataga, in the Lekki area of the state.

According to the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, Chidinma is an undergraduate of the University of Lagos. He said that she had confessed to committing the crime.

Chidinma was paraded at the police command headquarters in Ikeja on Thursday.

The owner of the rented apartment where the tragic incident took place had been arrested, and Odumosu also said Ataga’s account had been blocked to prevent further withdrawals from it by those taking advantage of his untimely death to deplete the account.

Ataga’s lifeless body was found few days ago in a service apartment that he rented and lodged for at least three days with a lady alleged to be his girlfriend.
