Sammie Okposo Celebrates His Birthday In A Grand Style

Gospel music act Sammie Okposo is gearing up for the second leg of his American tour to celebrate his 50th birthday.

The Wellu Wellu singer, who recently turned 50, expressed his gratefulness to God for the achievements in his career and for sparing his life.

“Turning 50 has been an exciting journey and God has been faithful. When we were much younger, we used to think that the people in their 50s were very old but we know better now.

I am most grateful to God that I’m alive to celebrate my 50th especially after the whole world was plagued with the Covid-19 pandemic.

“So for me to be alive to celebrate my 50th in good health, there is a lot to be grateful for. Even though we couldn’t celebrate with a big party because of the Covid-19 restrictions, we’re still able to mark it with a few family and friends. I am on the fifth floor now, I’m grateful but the best of Sammie Okposo is yet to come,” he said.

He expressed his delight in the evolution of gospel music in Nigeria but admitted that more still has to be done.

“Gospel music in Nigeria has thrived very well. It has moved from where it used to be. A few of us that were pace setters kept it alive while the new artists that have joined us brought in more fire. So it is a whole lot better than what it used to be. We are having international collaborations, concerts, and tours.

“My last single ‘Too good to be true’ has hit over a million views on Youtube and the one before it, “Sing Halleluyah” has gotten almost 2 million views. I also just released the live version of one of my previous songs, Omeriwo which featured Mercy Chinwe and Henry Soul in the studio version.

“The live version of the song featured two of my band singers, Joy Uche Ogbona and Lillian Collins. There will always be room for improvement anyways”.

Basket Mouth Welcomes His Second Daughter

Basket Mouth and his wife Elsie welcome their second daughter Maya to the family of Okpocha.

Read the testimony of Mrs Elsie Okpocha on social media............

So let me share my testimony with you.

So on the day I put to birth, I was rejected by 2 hospitals(I had registered in one of them ) even though labour had started and my contractions were happening every 2minutes, their reason was that I hadn’t done my antenatal with them so they didn’t want to take me in case there was an emergency.

So after 40mins of driving back and forth, I was eventually admitted to Reddington Hospital in VI, I can only thank God it was midnight so there was no traffic, so while in the labour room, my water broke and I had a cord Prolapse…. (Never heard of it until that day)

So a Cord Prolapse is when the cord comes out of the uterus before the baby, when this happens, it can result in a loss of oxygen to the baby, and may even result in a stillbirth.

But God was gracious, he was kind, he didn’t let the Devil win…. When I saw the Doctor and Nurses Panic, I knew Something was wrong, in that moment of fear, I started to declare life for myself and my baby, thankfully God came through as always.

Fortunately the Doctor knew the emergency steps to take to keep my baby alive while they prepared me for an emergency CS, the CS doctor arrived in good time and I had my baby who is well and alive.Thank you Lord.

congratulations to the family of Okpcha.
