Why I didn’t Want Man City To Win Champions League Final – Burna Boy



Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed that he didn’t want Manchester City to win the UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan.

DAILY POST reported that City pipped Inter 1-0 to clinch their first-ever Champions League trophy in Istanbul, Turkey, on Saturday night.

Burna Boy who made history as the first African artiste to perform at the Champions League final, spoke with Paramount+ shortly after the game.

He said he didn’t want City to win because he is a fan of their rival, Manchester United.

He said, “This was most amazing thing, even though I honestly didn’t want City to win for sentimental reasons, it’s okay.

“It is amazing performing at the UCL final.”

Burna Boy has sold out choice arenas around the world as his music continues to attract international listeners.

American DJ, artist, and Producer Marshmallow performed at the 2021 Champions League final in Portugal while Cuban Pop star Camila Cabello performed at the 2022 edition in Paris.

The 2023 final was held in Istanbul Turkey and Burna Boy thrilled fans to a collection of his hit songs as he continues to lead the international charge of Afrobeats.

I Became Depressed After I Was Expelled From University – Mr Macaroni



Famous comedian, Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has revealed that he suffered from depression after he was expelled from the university in 2017.

He said he was depressed because it was the fourth university he was attending.

The skit maker disclosed this via his Twitter handle on Saturday.

He wrote, “I was dealing with depression late 2017/2018 —- That was the period I was expelled from Uni. And it was the 4th University at the time.”

Mr Macaroni said he also suffered another round of depression in 2018 because of his inability to find acting gigs.

He said it was during that period that he started creating contents and posting online and achieved stardom.

He added, “From 2018-2019 was another round of depression. I continued hustling for roles again in Nollywood. I have been acting on and off since like 2011… From one audition to another. Dem scam me tire. I dey pay for form on top say I wan act….

“I started creating contents and posting online late 2019 when depression wan finish me. God picked my call same year.” [sic].

Mr Macaroni clarified that he was later recalled by the institution that expelled him and graduated successfully.

Mercy Johnson Laid Father To Rest


The talented actress shared the news and sorrowful moments from the funeral on her Instagram page on Friday, June 9, 2023.

In a series of photos she posted, Johnson expressed her gratitude to her colleagues, fans, and followers for their love and prayers during this difficult time.

She captioned the photos with a solemn message, saying, "What we once enjoyed deeply, we can never lose'. I will keep all my memories close to my heart. Thank God for a successful burial. May we never be in this position again. I appreciate all your love and prayers. It meant a lot."

The heartbreaking news of her father's passing was initially shared by the actress on her Instagram account on Friday afternoon, May 5, 2023.

She shared a video from her father's 74th birthday celebration, expressing her deep sorrow and questioning why he was taken away from her.

In her emotional tribute, she wrote, "For the rest of my life Daddy, I will keep asking God why? I don't think I will ever understand why he has taken you from me. And if he responds, I don't even think I will accept it. They say love saves, but my love did not keep you here with us. The great pain I feel now is the greatest pain of all. Rest in Peace, my gentle father, NWO Johnson Ametuo Daniel. D.A Johnson, God clearly loves you more, that's the only explanation that makes any sense to me."

Mercy Johnson Okojie, beyond being a talented actress, is also a film director and producer. She has graced the screen with her remarkable performances in notable movies such as The Ghost and the Tout, Battle on Buka Street, and Passport.

Popular Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci has debunked reports that she is charging twenty-five thousand Naira, for people to observe her culinary skills in Abuja.



Hilda gave the denial in a post on her Instagram page

Reports had emerged that Hilda planned a ‘meet and greet’ session with her supporters in Abuja but the Akwa Ibom State born clarified that she did not ask anyone to pay such an amount of money.

“Hi everyone. This is to inform everyone that I’m not doing any meet and greet in Abuja. I would also never ask anyone to pay for such.” She wrote.

The 27-year-old became famous after completing 100 hours of marathon cooking to surpass the previous Guinness World record set by an Indian chef, Lata Tondon.

Na Me First Tell Davido To Start Singing......Adebayo Adeleke



Nigerian singer Adebayo Adeleke, better known as B-Red, has claimed that it was he who advised his cousin, Davido, to pursue a musical career.

He made the claim while appearing as a guest on the latest episode of the Echoo Room podcast, hosted by Quincy Jonze.

The ‘Cucumber’ crooner said he advised Davido to start singing because he was “too good.”

He said, “He [Davido] was so good. Na me first tell David, omo, start singing.

“Shoutout to my cousin, M-Pizzy; he is still a good artist. We started pushing him [M-Pizzy] first. So one day, David was always doing backups, and I said, David, M-Pizzy is good, but you too, you are good oh, start singing na.

“David said, are you serious? I said, yes! And he started singing. So, it was my cousin, M-Pizzy that actually showed us the way. Shoutout to M-Pizzy too.”

During the show, B-Red also recounted how he and Davido sold 20 televisions in his father’s house.

He said he and his brother, Sina Rambo, also worked as personal assistants to Don Jazzy and D’banj during the Mo’hits era.

Nonso Diobi Revealed Why He's Taking Break From Nollywood


 Popular actor Nonso Diobi (a native of Nawfia, a small town in Anambra State) has explained why he took a six-year break from the local movie scene dubbed Nollywood.

The thespian who opened up in a recent interview with Hip TV said that he had to take a break from the local movie scene to gain more knowledge in moviemaking.

He said; “So basically, I put it this way. I always take time off to acquire more knowledge, to become something else in entertainment, and to also keep giving my followers what they want. Basically, that’s why I have been off the scene for so long.”

Nonso Diobi who made his debut in a 2001 film titled Border Line said that he has evolved from acting to filmmaking and also informed that he has two new movies in the pipeline.

“…I am coming back with a bang. “Right now, I have two movies in the works and I will be making it known to the public pretty soon. At the moment, I can officially tell you that I am a filmmaker also, not just the regular Nonso Diobi movie star that you know. So I’m also into directing now. I’m producing my own movies, and very soon, the fans will really understand why I took some time off. Because entertainment is my life,” he stated.
