'Blood And Water' Season 4 Is Officially In The Works



The streaming giant confirmed principal photography of a brand new season on Tuesday, May 13, 2023 via its South African Istagram page.

NetflixSA announced, "Pssst, come a little closer. I’ve got news. Season 4 of #BloodAndWater is officially in production!"

The post features Ama Qamata, Khosi Ngema, Leroy Panashe, Mekaila Mathys, Thabang Molaba, and Natasha Thahane, all on set.

News of the new season comes over six months after the show's third season premiered to a raving reviews.

The third season aired on November 25, 2022 with the relentless Puleng Khumalo (Qamata), Fikile Bhele aka Fiks (Ngema), Karabo ‘KB’ Molapo (Molaba), Nwabisa Bhele (Xolile Tshabalala), and Wade Daniels (Dillon Windvogel).

Sandi Schultz, Aro Greeff, Gretel Fincham, Odwa Gwanya, Patrick Mofokeng, Gail Mabalane, and Cindy Mahlangu also made appearances.

Blood and Water is regarded as one of the most globally successful African originals on Netflix since it premiered in May 2020.

Davido opens up about the pain of losing late son


Nigerian music superstar, Davido, has shared his journey of coping with the tragic loss of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.

In a recent podcast interview with Million Dollaz Worth Of Game on June 12, 2023, the singer opened up about the overwhelming sadness that engulfs him each day following Ifeanyi's untimely passing.

The devastating incident occurred on October 30, 2022, when Ifeanyi tragically drowned in a pool at Davido's home in Lagos.

Despite the overwhelming grief, the musician has managed to find solace in his music. He poured his emotions into his highly-anticipated album, Timeless, delivering vibrant and energetic tracks and surprised many who expected sad songs.

However, beneath his brave facade, Davido confessed that he still cries every morning over the loss of his son.

He shared, "I miss him every day, tears roll down my cheeks each morning, even though you can't see it."

In the midst of his personal struggle, the Unavailable crooner acknowledges the responsibility he has towards his loved ones, especially Ifeanyi's mother.

He understands the need to be strong not only for them but also for his fans worldwide. Davido expressed, "My son is watching over me. Besides supporting his mom, my primary duty, I must also be a source of strength for the world."

The singer said he finds comfort in the belief that Ifeanyi and his late mother are joyfully dancing together in heaven.

He attributes his ability to rise above his grief to his relentless faith in God, saying, "People witnessing my recovery journey see that it's God's doing. My wife and I relied on faith, and God proved His existence."

Ex Governor Godswill Akpabio Has Been Selected As Senate President


 A former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, has been elected as the Senate President of the 10th Assembly just as the lawmaker representing Zaria Federal Constituency, Tajudeen Abbas, also emerged as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Akpabio and Abbas are the preferred candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The voting in the election of a new Senate President commenced with Akpabio and former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator-elect Abdulazeez Yari, going toe to toe.

After a quick recess, Sani Tambuwal, the Clerk of the National Assembly, declared Akpabio as the Senate President having garnered 63 votes leaving his rival with 46 votes.

After the Clerk of the National Assembly called for nominations, the senator-elect for Borno South, Ali Ndume, nominated Godswill Akpabio, senator-elect for Akwa Ibom North-East, as President of the Senate. Akpabio accepted the nomination; while Elisha Abbo, senator-elect for Adamawa North, nominated Abdulaziz Yari, senator-elect for Zamfara West.

The senators protested that Yari was not allowed to stand for the position as a first-time senator.

After the lawmakers cast their votes in alphabetical order, two representatives of each team came to count their votes.

Senators Adeola Solomon and Ali Ndume came out to represent Senator Akpabio, while Abbo and the senator-elect representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Jimoh Ibrahim, represented Senator Yari.

In the race for the Speakership, Rt, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, who was elected in an “openly declare” ballot system was elected by 189 members of the House on Tuesday.

He defeated fellow contenders – Ahmed Wase and Sani Jaji, who polled three votes each.

I Have been Struggling With My Voice......Davido


 Famous Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, Davido, says he has been struggling with his voice.

Davido during a chat with a Nigerian-based music magazine, ‘The Native’ recounted occasions he had lost his voice before a stage performance.

Speaking on how he has been criticized for his hazy and husky voice, the singer disclosed that he had to learn to deal with the problem and ensure it doesn’t affect his music.

He said; “My doctor, at some point, advised me against non-essential verbal communication.

“Because my voice is already husky, when my voice goes it’s so annoying. I like to express myself and I speak a lot, so when I can’t talk, it’s annoying.

“It’s so uncomfortable when I have a show and my voice is not back, and I’m impatient so I’ll just be coughing,” he said.

Davido released his first single, Back When in 2011, a song from his debut album, Omo Baba Olowo, (2012). He rose to fame after releasing Dami Duro, the second track of the album.

He has put out multiple chart-topping singles in the last decade.

A few weeks after social media buzzed with pomp and fanfare over Hilda’s attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours by an individual, Chef Dammy attempted to break the same record by beating Hilda’s time.

Actor Ugezu took to his official Instagram page to share his thoughts on the matter. According to him, Dammy did not even wait for Hilda to be confirmed as a Guinness World Record holder but she decided to compete and deny her confirmation.

Stephanie Linus Has Been Selected As One Of The Jurors For The 2023 Tribeca Film Festival In New York.



On joining the jury, the Nigerian actress and filmmaker says, “It is such an exciting festival with many voices amplified, especially women’s voices. It has given a platform for both new and seasoned filmmakers to showcase their works. 

I am having a great time reviewing the shortlisted films and recommending winners for the 2023 Tribeca Festival.”

Linus is known for her critically acclaimed and award-winning works, both in front and behind the camera, which includes her revolutionary film, Dry, which tackles themes that pertains to the girl-child and women’s rights.

The festival kicked off Wednesday, June 7, 2023 with the documentary Kiss the Future, which follows an underground community that worked and created through the nearly four-year long siege of Sarajevo.

Founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, 21 years ago, the 2023 program features 109 films from 27 filmmakers across 36 countries.

The festival will close June 18, 2023 with the 30th anniversary screening of Robert De Niro’s directorial debut, A Bronx Tale, and a post screening conversation.
