Man Goes ‘Blind’ After Trying To Cry For 7 Days Non-Stop To Set A New Guinness World Record

A wave of Guinness World Record fever has taken over numerous African youths. Many people across the continent are striving to push the limits and set their own unique records. Among them, Nigerians are particularly captivated by this trend, going to extreme lengths to establish new benchmarks. One individual caught up in this excitement is Tembu Ebere, a well-known social media influencer.

Determined to break a record, Tembu Ebere embarked on a mission to cry continuously for seven days. Unfortunately, his ambitious endeavor took an unexpected turn when he experienced temporary blindness during the attempt. Despite facing this setback, Tembu Ebere remained resolute, emphasizing that his tears were shed for the sake of African youths. He aimed to inspire them and demonstrate that there are no boundaries to what they can achieve.

While some see this trend as a passing fad, others are leveraging their record-breaking attempts to promote important causes. In an interview with the BBC, Ebere stated, “I had to re-strategize and reduce my wailing,” acknowledging that crying for seven days straight proved more challenging than he initially thought. He also disclosed that he experienced severe headaches, a swollen face, and puffy eyes from the constant crying before going temporarily blind for 45 minutes

Don Jazzy Revealed That Daddy Showkey And Baba Fryo Are His Role Models

Veteran producer and singer, Michael Collins Ajereh aka Don Jazzy has revealed that his role model while growing up in Ajegunle, was legendary musician Daddy Showkey.

The Mavins record label boss said Daddy Showkey and “Dem go dey pose” crooner Baba Fryo were his inspiration to pursue music.

Don Jazzy started his music career in church as an instrumentalist because he couldn’t afford studio sessions.

The music executive disclosed this while featuring as a guest on the latest episode of the Leaderboard podcast hosted by Fisayo Fosudo.

He said: “My music inspiration started from Ajegunle because of dem Daddy Showkey, dem Baba Fryo, a lot of all these Ajegunle musicians that we looked up to.

“I used to tell my guys that when I started making music, I pretty much just wanted to blow and be Daddy Showkey because anywhere you went to in the country, you would hear, ‘If you see my mama, Hosanna’ or ‘Somebody call my name, Showkey.’

“Trust me, the lyrics are national anthems. I pretty much wanted to do that. So, I used to go to church and play instruments. It was the only place that you can….Unless you want to go to studios which would cost money. At that time, we couldn’t afford to have sessions.

“So, the best place that you can get free equipment is the church. Instead of doing the reggae, the reggae, you go and do gospel first”, he said.

The new president of the club noted that “as members of the Rotary Club of Akowonjo“, we are united by our unwavering commitment to spreading hope in our communities, both near and far adding that it is through our collective efforts, fueled by compassion and dedication, that we will make a lasting impact and create a world filled with possibilities.

According to Dr. Sam-Amoye, “during my presidency, I envision our club, “The Achievers’ Club” as a beacon of hope for all” noting that “we will strive to be the catalysts of positive change, extending a helping hand to those in need and uplifting spirits through our various initiatives because our vision will be to encourage each and every member to embrace the spirit of selflessness, extend acts of kindness to others and to create moments that instill hope for the future we eagerly anticipate”.

Consequently, she charged members of the club to “embark on this extraordinary journey of service, knowing that their collective efforts will bring joy, alleviate suffering, and inspire countless lives” adding that “as we join hands in fellowship today, let us ignite the fire of hope within us, for it is through hope that we will forge a path towards a brighter tomorrow but let us always remember that the hope we seek to create starts with us, as members of this incredible club”.

As she puts it: “together, we will amplify our impact and create a ripple effect of hope that will extend far beyond our club's boundaries”.

In her views on the day’s event, she remarked that “as we gather for our inaugural Rotary fellowship, we are transported into a world of enchantment and a romantic embrace of service to humanity as we celebrate "A Night of Blues” and according to her, "this captivating theme holds deep symbolism, representing significant aspects that resonate with the spirit of our club and the journey that lies ahead”
