Joshua Olonitola, popularly Known As O Ti Yan Yan Crooner Is Dead

 




Nigerian musician, Joshua Olonitola, A.K.A Slim Joe, died on Sunday after complications with a kidney-related ailment, at age 30.

The ‘O ti Yan Yan’ crooner was reported to have been seeking N15million for urgent medical intervention before he passed on.

In an interview with The PUNCH on November 2021, the singer had said he had been diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease since November 24, 2020, and had been advised to go for a kidney transplant.

In a sad turn of events, the singer has been reported dead on Sunday.

One Kayode Jegede who claimed to be the cousin of the deceased confirmed his passing on Facebook.

Jegede wrote, “I lost a cousin, Joshua Olonitola aka, Slim Joe of Oti yanyan fame.

“Aburo, it is painful to lose a good brother like you to death at your prime of fame and age.

Abike, The Lady Who Claimed To Have A Child For Portable Confessed

A lady, simply known as Abike, who went viral by claiming that fast rising Nigerian singer, Portable, impregnated her, has made a U-turn as she said that didn’t have a child for the singer.

She said that she was just joking with the video, adding that she did not know that the video would go viral.

The young lady also claimed that the baby she was holding was a neighbour’s child.

While some fans noted that she ought to be arrested and charges to court, others accused her of clout chasing.

Portable hit the airwaves with his “Zazoo Zeh” sing earlier in the last quarter of the year 2021.

His collaboration with Poco Lee and Olamide made the “Zazoo Zeh” single to break charts in the country.

Recently, the international dancehall diva, an ex-girlfriend of Burna Boy, Steflon Don, was seen mimicking Portable in another online video, where the song was being played at the background.

Portable’s fame has also made him gain two cars in the past week.

Former Big Brother Naija Housemate Tobi Bakre welcomed a baby boy with his wife, Anu.

He wrote on his Instagram page

NRC Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa Passes On

The Presidential Candidate of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC), Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa is dead.

Tofa was MKO Abiola’s major challenger in the controversial June 12, 1993, presidential election, annulled by the military government of General Ibrahim Babangida.

According to family sources, he died in the early hours of Monday after an illness.

Confirming his death, one of the deceased’s relations, Alhaji Muhammad, said “Alhaji Bashir tofa died after being admitted in hospital for sometime.”

Olubadan Of Ibadan Passed Away This Morning


 The monarch who ascended the throne in 2017 was confirmed dead by his media aide at early hours of today. 

It was gathered that the monarch died at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Oyo state, on Sunday at age 93.

May his soul rest in peace.

Lagos Assembly Passes A New Budget of N1.7Trillion For 2022


The Lagos State House of Assembly on Wednesday evening passed the year 2022 budget estimate with a slight increase of the grand total from the initial N1.38 trillion to N1.758 trillion.

The budget was passed at a sitting presided over by the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, after a presentation of the report by Chairman of the Committee on Economic Planning and Budget, Gbolahan Yishawu.

Yishawu, after the plenary, explained that the total budget size passed has addition of left overs from the previous allocations in the 2021 budget.

He said the leftover was rolled into ‘contingency fund’ in the year 2022 budget.

He also put the Capital and Recurrent Expenditure ratio at 66:34.

While the recurrent expenditure is N591,280,803,486bn, the Capital expenditure is N1.166,915,843,358trn, which brings the budget total size to N1,758,196,44,844trn.

According to him the loans, bonds and ISPO funds are captured in the budget that was passed.

Speaking after the passage of the budget, Obasa thanked his colleagues for working assiduously to ensure that the appropriation bill was passed.

While wishing them a happy New Year celebration, Obasa prayed that God would continue to keep Lagos safe.

He urged them to also remain conscious of their safety as well as the safety of their neighbours.
