For his contribution towards the development of entertainment industry
in Nigeria, Asiwaju Benson Akindeju, the MD/CEO of AK Media Concepts, has been
given a special recognition award by City People Media Group.
Akindeju, the producer of televisions series; Face-2-Face, Family Ties
and Nowhere To Be Found, received the plaque at the City People Entertainment
Award held at The Haven Event Centre, Ikeja, on 14 July. The event was graced
by people from all walks of life.
In his acceptance speech, Akindeju gave glory to God and dedicated the
award to his mentor; Mr. Wale Adenuga.
“I give glory to God almighty for the opportunity He has given me to be
a contributor to people’s lives via what I love doing most. I give thanks
to City People Entertainment and my mentor who has contributed greatly to my uplift
in the media world, Mr. Wale Adenuga. I say thank you sir,” he said.
AK Media’s TV dramas; Family Ties and Face-2-Face were also nominated at
different categories of the award.
Akindeju’s AK Media Concepts is a household name among Content Providers
in Nigeria. He debut with Face-2-Face, a comedy series almost a decade ago, and
ever since, the programme has bagged different awards and the company now has
other beautiful titles to her credit. Some of them are; Family Ties, Nowhere To
Be Found, Muziq & Moore and OYINMOMO, a Yoruba talk show showing on Africa
Magic.
