There is heavy military presence as Nigeria and Cameroon have deployed heavy gunboats to the maritime border in Bakassi Peninsula.
Sources also said the major road to Calabar from Ikang has been militarized with stop-and-search security teams. T was gathered that residents have expressed fear over the sudden military presence.
This might not be unconnected with the 14 days ultimatum of Biafra Nations League (BnL).
BnL gave the two countries 14 days ultimatum to release Nnamdi Kanu, withdraw troops from South East and Bakassi Peninsula.
Also, BnL Chief of Staff in Ikang said he was alarmed by the call he received from an agent of the DSS who was talking about the BnL ultimatum.
Operational Commander of BnL, Henry Edet, reacting to reinforcement of troops, said they would end up intimidating indigenes, insisting they can't stop anything that wants to happen.
