Popular Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has pleaded for financial assistance, revealing her ongoing battle with a serious illness.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Halima appeared frail as she addressed accusations of faking her condition.
People are confused about what is happening. I’m not feeling fine up till now; I’m just good at being strong. This is the real me because every day you see me post pictures with the TikTok filter, but this is how I look. How could somebody say I’m lying that I am sick?” she said.
She disclosed that she recently moved to Lagos for medical reasons and still requires urgent treatments, including an MRI.
Adding to her distress, she claimed close friends and colleagues have abandoned her, with some doubting her illness.
My own best friend said I am lying to the public. You didn’t come to check on me even once.
Halima, who was suspended from Nollywood in 2024, has been absent from the industry for over six years. Her plea has sparked reactions, with fans urging support for the actress in her time of need.
