Doyin Okupe, a notable figure in Nigerian politics, has passed away at the age of 72 after a lengthy battle with cancer that lasted 16 years. Originally diagnosed with prostate cancer, he later developed sarcoma in his right shoulder.
In October 2023, Okupe was hospitalized and eventually transferred to Israel for treatment. Unfortunately, his health did not improve as hoped. Throughout his career, he served as a spokesperson for the National Republican Convention and as a senior aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan. Okupe is survived by his wife, Aduralere Okupe, and their children.
